Optomistic Products offers fool-proof sensor wiring using Connector Cables with color-coded and labeled wires, corresponding to sensor pin labelling, with separate sheathing of individual sensor wires for easy identification at the ATE interface. These will save time and over-all assembly cost, protecting the sensors from the possibility of heat damage caused by excessive heat when soldering connections, and are long, durable and tested.

The simplest method of installing the Universal LightProbe Sensors with long fiber-optic cable probes, is to use a single clamp for the sensor with a single #10-ANSI screw for one-hole fixing, and individual clamps for the non-contacting fiber-optic probes secured to the probe plate, allowing the height of the probes above the LEDs under test to be adjusted. Or, alternatively, to set and secure contacting, spring-tipped probes with the correct pre-travel.
The photo shows a LightProbe Sensor with Duplex Fiber-Optic Probes installed on a probe-plate with clamp for the sensor unit and two clamps to secure the fiber-optic probes to the probe-plate and to adjust the height of the fiber-optic probes above the LEDs under test before locking them in place with the pinch screw of each clamp. For very close-spaced LEDs and 7-segment displays, Optomistic Products recommends our unique pinch-plate technique.
Universal LightProbe sensors are housed in non-conducting casings and use standard wire-wrap pins for all electrical connections.
