We

Optomistic
Products make LightProbes™ to test LEDs and other
lamps and displays on printed-circuit boards using in-circuit
test (ICT) fixtures and automatic test equipment (ATE)
for production testing of circuit boards and their components.
Optomistic Products light probes are the light-sensing
equivalent of conventional in-circuit electrical test
probes used in bed-of-nails test fixtures, and are similar
in size and installation methods. LED test is fast and
automatic with LightProbes. LightProbes include LED sensors
which verify color and intensity, ensuring the right color
LED is in the right position on the circuit board and
that the LED is bright enough for the finished product.
LightProbes test LEDs, incandescent lamps, neon lamps,
vacuum fluorescent displays and liquid crystal displays
using the same ATE software used for electrical tests
on circuit boards.

new, low-cost LightProbes require no calibration/sensitivity
adjustment for a wide range of LED types, colors and intensities.
